Part of The Great British Bang celebration in Selfridges, recreating 6 outfits representing British fashion post-war. The Big Yellow Shop! Selling exclusive merchandise from some of the most iconic British brands, while paying homage to their signature hue, Pantone 109. Green velvet dress from Urban Outfitters Hermès presents an exhibition of iconic handbags designed through the decades to mark its 175th anniversary. The exhibition tells the story of how Hermès started out as a saddle and harness-maker before going on to become one of the world's most renowned fashion labels. It was pretty enthralling, with leather making and designing demonstrations led by experts, and sand on the floor to represent to desert dunes, holographic backgrounds, etcetc. Pretty much engulfs the five senses. The Ragged School Museum at Mile End. 'Twas pretty wary when i went there, not the safest place in London, I would say. The canalside warehouses that housed Dr Barnardo's Ragged Day School during the late Victorian period is now a museum of the East End which examines the experiences of the children who attended the school. There was a 'Shooting the Sixties' exhibtion going on, where they recreated scenes from the past. Hilarious. |
